Battery Disposal Information

Disposing of batteries and rechargeable batteries properly plays an important part in protecting the environment and conserving resources. Batteries can contain valuable raw materials, as well as substances that may harm the environment if disposed of incorrectly, so they must not be thrown away with household waste.
Please always take used batteries and rechargeable batteries to a suitable collection point. This allows the materials they contain to be recycled and any potentially harmful substances to be handled safely.
You can drop off used batteries and rechargeable batteries with us free of charge, or send them back to us. We’ll make sure they are passed on correctly to the designated disposal and recycling facilities.
Please make sure damaged or loose batteries are protected against short circuits before posting or handing them in, for example by taping over the terminals.
The symbols shown on batteries and rechargeable batteries mean the following:
- Pb = battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass
- Cd = battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass
- Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol indicates that batteries and rechargeable batteries must be collected and disposed of separately from household waste. By returning them correctly, you help conserve natural resources and protect the environment.
