VPG bases in different mix ratios
Pure PG base and VG base are made from 100 percent propylene glycol (PG) and 100 percent glycerine (VG) respectively. With these single bases, you can mix your own VPG base exactly how you like it. Ready-mixed VPG bases come in various ratios, with 50:50 e-liquid bases and 80VG/20PG e-liquid bases being especially popular. Depending on whether you care most about big vapour production or the full flavour of your e-liquid, one VPG base may suit you better than another. Flavour chasers need a base with enough flavour carrier, meaning PG. That’s usually where 50:50 bases come in. If your main goal is large, dense clouds, the VG content of VPG bases for e-cigarettes is what counts. For these vapers, 80:20 bases are recommended, made from 80 percent glycerine and just 20 percent propylene glycol. Glycerine is generally responsible for vapour production. However, because VG is a little thicker, VG-heavy bases are less suitable for small e-cigarettes and pod systems, while bases with too much PG should not be used with box mod e-cigarette starter kits.
