Why don’t we sell the PGVG Labs RAGE 2200 anymore?

Because there was no specific legal basis — in other words, e-cigarettes were not covered by Swiss tobacco products legislation — nicotine e-liquids and prefilled nicotine cartridges could be sold under the Cassis de Dijon principle. This principle states that, for reasons of competitiveness, products approved in the European Economic Area may also be sold in Switzerland. EU tobacco product regulations specify that nicotine-containing e-liquids may not be sold in packaging larger than 10 ml. Prefilled cartridges and disposable e-cigarettes may also contain no more than 2 ml of e-liquid. Although one country in the European Economic Area does not apply this restriction, in November 2023 we were instructed to comply with EU standards — regardless of the fact that, under the Cassis de Dijon principle, these products should also be marketable in Switzerland. Clarifying this legal situation in court would likely take longer than the finalisation of the new Swiss Tobacco Products Ordinance, which will lead to this issue for us anyway. In practice, this means that since the order issued in November 2023, we have no longer been allowed to import disposable e-cigarettes with more than 2 ml of liquid, although we were granted a sell-through period for products already imported until the end of August 2024.

Aside from making e-cigarettes less attractive as a way to quit tobacco, we personally don’t see any reasonable point to this restriction. We therefore see it as consumer-unfriendly and, environmentally, nonsensical. If disposable e-cigarettes are capped at a maximum of 600 puffs or a 2 ml fill volume, it simply creates more waste.

As an alternative to larger disposable e-cigarettes, there are now new models where the disposable vape has a 2 ml fill volume and also comes with a 10 ml bottle of e-liquid, ultimately giving you a larger total volume.

The PGVG Labs RAGE 2200 – 20 mg disposable pod runs on a built-in 1000 mAh battery and comes prefilled with 5.5 ml of 20 mg/ml nic salt e-liquid. It is available in 10 different flavours. The disposable pod is draw-activated and designed for around 2200 puffs. As this is a disposable pod, it cannot be recharged or refilled with e-liquid. After use, it must be disposed of properly.

Watermelon Ice: Juicy watermelon with a cooling note.
