Why don’t we sell the Vozol Bar 1600 anymore?

Because there was no specific legal basis, or more precisely because e-cigarettes were not covered by Swiss tobacco products legislation, nicotine-containing e-liquids and prefilled cartridges with nicotine could be sold under the Cassis de Dijon principle. This principle states that, in the interests of competitiveness, products approved in the European Economic Area may also be sold in Switzerland. The relevant EU Tobacco Products regulations state that nicotine-containing e-liquids must not be sold in containers larger than 10 ml. Prefilled cartridges and disposable e-cigarettes must also not contain more than 2 ml of e-liquid. Although there is a country in the European Economic Area where this restriction does not apply, we were instructed in November 2023 to comply with EU standards, regardless of the fact that, under the Cassis de Dijon principle, these products should also be permitted for sale in Switzerland. Clarifying this legal situation in court would likely take longer than the finalisation of the new Swiss Tobacco Products Ordinance, which would create this issue for us anyway. In concrete terms, this means that since the ruling in November 2023, we have not been allowed to import disposable e-cigarettes with more than 2 ml of liquid, while we were assured that we could sell through products already imported until the end of August 2024.

Personally, we see no sensible reason for this restriction, other than making e-cigarettes less attractive as a way to move away from tobacco use. We therefore consider it consumer-unfriendly and environmentally nonsensical. If disposable e-cigarettes are only allowed to offer a maximum of 600 puffs, or a 2 ml fill volume, this simply creates more waste.

As an alternative to larger disposable e-cigarettes, there are now new models that pair a 2 ml disposable vape with an additional 10 ml bottle of e-liquid, giving you a larger total volume overall.

As this is a disposable vape, it cannot be refilled or recharged. Once your Vozol Bar is finished, you can dispose of it properly and replace it with a new one.
