Why don’t we sell the Wotofo NexPod Kit anymore?

Because there is no clear legal basis, and e-cigarettes are not covered by the Swiss Tobacco Products Act, nicotine-containing e-liquids and pre-filled cartridges with nicotine may be sold under the Cassis de Dijon principle. This principle states that, in the interests of competitiveness, any product approved in the European Economic Area may also be sold in Switzerland. The EU Tobacco Products Directive stipulates that nicotine-containing e-liquids must not exceed a pack size of 10ml. Pre-filled cartridges and disposable vapes must also not contain more than 2ml of e-liquid. Although there is a country in the European Economic Area where this restriction does not apply, in November 2023 we were ordered to comply with EU standards, regardless of the fact that these products should also be marketable in Switzerland under the Cassis de Dijon principle. Clarifying this legal situation in court would likely take longer than the finalisation of the new Swiss Tobacco Products Ordinance, which will create the same issue for us anyway. In practical terms, this means that since the order in November 2023, we have not been allowed to import disposable vapes with more than 2 ml of liquid, although we were assured that we could sell off products already imported until the end of August 2024.

Personally, we don’t see any sensible reason for this restriction, other than making e-cigarettes less attractive as a way to quit smoking. We therefore consider it consumer-unfriendly and ecological nonsense. If disposable vapes are only allowed to offer a maximum of 600 puffs, or a 2ml fill volume, this simply creates more waste.

As an alternative to larger disposable vapes, there are now new models where the disposable vape itself has a 2ml fill volume, but also comes with a 10ml e-liquid bottle, giving you a larger total volume overall.

With the nexPod Starter Kit, Wotofo offers a more eco-friendly and cost-effective vape. It uses pre-filled pods that you simply replace after use. Each pod is filled with 10 ml of e-liquid and contains 20 mg nicotine salt. In our shop, you can choose from 18 different flavours, with each pod delivering up to 5000 puffs. The device features a built-in, rechargeable 650 mAh battery.

Wotofo nexPod Starter Kit

With the nexPod Starter Kit from Wotofo, you get a stylish device that’s incredibly easy to use and works with pre-filled pods. Once the pod is empty, simply replace it with a new one of your choice. Thanks to its anodised aluminium body, the device is perfect for everyday use and, with its compact size of 83.3 mm x 42.4 mm x 23 mm (incl. pod), fits into any pocket.

The nexPod Kit features a built-in 650 mAh battery designed to last for more than 400 charge cycles. You can easily recharge the battery using a USB-C cable, which is available separately in our shop.

The nexPod works with nexPod cartridges. Each cartridge contains 10 ml of e-liquid with 20 mg nicotine salt and delivers up to 5000 outstanding puffs, so you can enjoy smooth MTL vaping. The built-in nexMesh coil with a resistance of 1.1 ohm ensures the flavour of the e-liquid in the pod stays intense for noticeably longer. The package includes a cartridge in the flavour of your choice.

The magnetic pod design makes it very easy to use, making it ideal for beginners. Just insert the pod into the device and enjoy your vape. The pod slot is also waterproof and offers protection against potential damage. The airflow is located on the underside of the device and can be adjusted to suit your exact needs and preferences.

The 18 different flavours, plus 10 additional options, are also available separately as pre-filled pods. You’ll find the Wotofo nexPod cartridges under accessories and can order more whenever you need them.
