A short story about vaping and smoking

My story with vaping and smoking It all began for me back in 2016, when I was still working as a bouncer in a club. One night, I kept noticing a cloud of vapour drifting through the dancing crowd, but I couldn’t make sense of it because nothing smelled of smoke. Eventually I caught the guy and gave him a warning. He must have thought I’d taken my eyes off him, though, because he simply carried on vaping without a care. One thing led to another, and a little later I was outside the club cutting the wristband off his arm. I asked him what that cloud machine was actually supposed to do for him. He told me, plain and simple, that he hadn’t touched a cigarette in months thanks to it, and that I should switch to a vape too. Apparently it was “so easy” to quit that way. A week later, I’d bought my first device and started my first attempt. Vaping with asthma I only managed to make the full switch to e-cigarettes after almost a year – and I’m definitely not the norm, of course, as many people manage it within just a few days or weeks. But as someone with asthma who had to use Symbicort, a cortisone-based asthma inhaler, every day, the benefits of vaping in that respect were especially obvious to me. Goodbye, smoker’s cough and shortness of breath! A few weeks after my last cigarette, I quickly noticed a significant reduction in what had almost become my chronic smoker’s cough. Especially when my alarm went off in the morning, I hardly had to cough anymore and generally felt so much better in terms of my lungs and overall wellbeing. My severe shortness of breath was also a thing of the past after a short time. I had much more stamina and barely got out of breath anymore when I had to run for the bus or went on one of my little bike rides. Finally, being active again without the constant feeling of half suffocating! Hello, taste buds! A few weeks later, I was even able to stop using the cortisone asthma inhaler completely. That’s when I really threw myself into the world of vaping and decided to apply to Dampfi, so I could convince other smokers who were curious about vaping of this “miracle” too. I could really smell the spring blossoms and wet earth again, and food tasted more intense too – sometimes quite different from how it had tasted during my eight years of heavy smoking. My skin improved a lot as well; before I quit smoking, I regularly had pretty bad blackheads, and after a short time they had practically disappeared completely. I often hear from people just starting out that they’re a bit sceptical about vaping, which in my opinion is mainly down to the often completely amateur research and unfounded reports in our media. But whenever I share my story, people start looking forward to making the switch and feel much more positive about vaping. I can easily imagine that sharing personal experiences has a major impact on how successfully beginners manage to switch. And yes, it pays off. Many of the beginners I speak to tell me similar stories, which only confirms and motivates us even more in our work to show smokers who are interested in vaping the benefits, and to help them finally get away from cigarettes. About me -  After three years of vaping and more than two years as a sales assistant in the Zurich and Horgen shops, it was time for a change of scenery, and somehow I ended up in the endless depths of the Dampfi office. There, among other things, I discovered an unexpected love of writing and will be bringing you all kinds of informative, pointless, funny, helpful and silly posts in future.
