ProVape has shut down
If you read the English statement on the US site, you might think the stated reason really is the whole story: blame the FDA, because within 
two years, manufacturers have to submit emissions testing data and plenty more besides!
But that’s within two years — not today, and not the day after tomorrow either. On top of that, legal challenges against the licensing rules and a number of pointless testing procedures are already under way. So whether the law will ever actually be enforced is still anyone’s guess. The FDA can’t really be the reason for shutting down a business today. Five or six years ago, the ProVari was a real breakthrough as a mod, because before ProVari, decent mods were still few and far between. We’re talking about a time when a regular battery with 1,000 mAh was considered great. A time when people vaped coils well above 1 ohm!
And that’s exactly where the real reason for the closure begins. ProVari simply failed to move with the times. With a mod that tops out at 60 watts, you’re not going to win any prizes. As a company, they might still have survived that if they had invested in a designer at some point — and, above all, if the price and performance had actually lined up.
In short, ProVari simply missed the boat on innovation — in the electronics, the design and the marketing. If you’re too late, life teaches you a hard lesson — and that applies to ProVape too! A legend is leaving, but only because they rested on their old reputation.
