Yuck! – Vaping Film on Windows
Let’s be honest: if you used to smoke and weren’t rushing out onto the balcony every five minutes, the question “How do I clean my windows as a vaper?” is pretty amusing. And since 99 percent of vapers are ex-smokers, it’s more likely to make you think of Swabia’s famous cleaning rota and ultra-house-proud Swabian housewives than a serious vaping problem.

Our test winner for windows is half a lemon! Citric acid doesn’t just tackle plaque that toothpaste is meant to deal with; it also removes PG streaks. Makes sense, because toothpaste contains a fair amount of PG too.
Simply cut a lemon in half, rub it over the window and finish with a clean microfibre cloth. Unlike regular window cleaner, the result is streak-free. For the windows at home, though, this method could get a little pricey.
That’s why, for windows around the house, we’d recommend a little Fairy (or any other washing-up liquid). Add a few drops of washing-up liquid to water, apply it to the glass and, ideally, use a squeegee instead of wiping it dry. It removes VG perfectly too, since washing-up liquid is designed to cut through grease.
A vinegar solution works too, because vinegar is acidic as well. Add a little apple cider vinegar to the water and clean the windows as usual. You don’t need the green Frosch cleaner either, because Frosch is basically nothing more than water and vinegar.
One rather amusing option is shaving foam — one vaper swears by it for the car. Apparently, it helps stop a new film forming for a while. We haven’t tried this method ourselves, though.
And why is lemon our favourite? Lemon doesn’t just remove build-up; it also neutralises unwanted odours. So it’s basically a 2-in-1 solution, almost like a hybrid tank.
By the way, cut lemons also work wonders for smelly fridges.
