E-Cigarettes for Beginners – What to Buy

Are you a smoker and thinking about trying vaping? Do you want to switch completely, or simply improve your quality of life in places where smoking isn’t allowed? Never smoked? Vaping is far less harmful than smoking. For one thing, all those additives in cigarettes are gone, and you also won’t have tar coating your lungs. But if you’ve never smoked, that doesn’t mean you need to start vaping. Less harmful and healthy are two different things.

As a beginner, the first question is – which device should I choose?

My tip – go for a battery and a modern tank. As a beginner, skip mods that you have to adjust yourself; a box mod doesn’t really make much sense as a starter device either. Simple, powerful and up to date – that’s what I’d recommend to a beginner. At the start of your vaping journey, you’ve already got enough to deal with when it comes to e-liquids and how your own body reacts, so it shouldn’t be technically complicated too. In the beginning, it should simply taste good, ideally from the very first puff! No fiddling, no teething troubles.

Long story short, I recommend a kit with a modern tank that offers both 1.5 ohm and 0.5 ohm coils, plus, of course, a battery that regulates itself and can handle sub-ohm coils too. My favourite would be a starter kit from Joyetech eGo ONE, which is currently available from us with a summer discount. Why? Generations of vapers started with Joyetech. It’s straightforward, easy to use and meets modern safety standards. I would choose the Mega Set with 2,600 mAh and the 4 ml tank, or the XL battery set with 2,200 mAh. The smaller model, however, only comes with a 2.5 ml tank. If you’re open to more unusual shapes, I can also recommend the eLeaf Box Mod.

All the tanks in these kits can also be used with any other battery or mod. But because the batteries already deliver solid performance, you can get on very well with one of these kits as a beginner.

You don’t want a full starter setup right away that will keep you happy for longer? It’s more about the shape and taking a few puffs? Then it’s definitely the iKiss that will win you over on price and design. Be careful, though! If you’re really a smoker, you can take a few puffs to find out whether vaping is for you, but the iKiss simply doesn’t have enough power to replace cigarettes in the long run. Because the iKiss is so small, however, there may be reasons why an iKiss makes sense even for seasoned vapers or smokers. In any case, this model is very discreet.

We’ll stick with beginner topics next week too – we’ll tell you about typical beginner mistakes and, above all, answer the question: how much nicotine should be in your e-liquid if you’ve been smoking? And what do you need to order from abroad?
