Choosing a Vape Mod
There are a few criteria I’d focus on when choosing a vape mod. That said, this is my personal top 5 checklist, so other
1. Firmware updates
Some vape mods cost serious money – but one argument in favour of more expensive mods is that higher-end devices let you update the firmware.
Why should that matter? The world of e-cigarettes is still changing fast, and what’s the hottest thing today could be overtaken tomorrow. Updatable mods help make sure your device keeps up with the technology for another year or two.
2. Weight – and therefore wattage
The higher the wattage, the more likely you are to need two batteries instead of a single 18650. That ultimately affects the overall weight of the mod. The device itself may be lightweight, but at 180 watts you’re adding two batteries.
That said, this is something women in particular may want to keep in mind. I prefer lighter mods, but I also have small hands, and a heavy mod simply isn’t comfortable for me personally.
In short, point 2 is especially relevant when women are choosing a mod.
3. Screen readability
If you wear glasses, don’t overlook the display. This is where pricier mods clearly have the edge over cheaper models.
4. The modes
TC and VW modes are standard today – but if you want a mechanical mod, you’ll find what you’re looking for among hybrids. Good hybrid mods also tend to sit at the higher end of the price range.
5. Design
What should your new vape mod look like? Sleek, premium and classy, like our real-wood Adonis model, or would you rather go for a modern, eye-catching design with plenty of colour? In short, your personal preference when it comes to looks is also an important selection criterion – after all, you want to enjoy your mod for a long time.
This is only meant as a quick overview to make your buying decision a little easier. It also shows that sometimes it really can make sense to treat yourself to a more expensive piece of kit.
