The lime tree flowers, which are also found under the scientific name Tiliae flos, originate from the lime tree. The winter linden has been a part of the European continent for over 2000 years, while the summer linden has been found in Great Britain for 8000 years and was respected as sacred by the Celts and Germanic tribes. In addition, the lime tree can be found in the tree calendar of the Celts, it is assigned the period from March 11 to 20 and from September 13 to 22. The Germanic tribes, on the other hand, dedicated the linden tree to Freya, the goddess of love and fertility.

The lime tree is said to have an expectorant and diaphoretic effect, and so it is often used for respiratory diseases and for mild fever. A tea made from lime blossoms can also be beneficial for stomach problems and in Ayurvedic medicine they are often used to strengthen the immune system.

As a tea, you can infuse the linden flowers with hot water and let it steep. For vaporizing, a temperature of 130 °C is recommended.
